It's back to school season and that means post-secondary students are looking for co-op positions.

Let's Talk About...
Development Charge Exemptions

Have you considered building an addition onto your property or redeveloping your existing facilities? If so, you may be eligible for a development charge exemption that can reduce the applicable development charges of your project. Up to 100% reduction in the applicable development charges may apply if you are:
  • Adding an addition to an existing industrial building
  • The new floor area of the addition is less than 50% the total floor area of the existing structure
Alternatively, up to a 100% development charge credit may apply if you are:
  • Redeveloping land by demolishing an old structure and building a new structure on the existing site
  • In this case 100% of the pre-existing floor area may be exempt from development charges, but any additional area over the pre-existing area will be susceptible to development charges

We recently caught up with FreshInsights alumnus,  Kimberlite Mayordomo , to see how she's doing since completing her time in the program. As a Business Consultant, Kimberlite excelled at conducting primary research and integrated consulting, and learned the importance of  maintaining good relationships and keeping clients engaged.

UPS Plane Pull
Saturday, September 24th 

United Way and UPS will bring together community partners to pull a plane in support of United Way and our community at the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. Participants will come together, some in creative costumes, to take on the challenge of strength and stamina to help raise funds for the community organization that helped over 150,000 people in Hamilton and Burlington last year alone. The event will take place in Spencer Smith Park at 12:00 noon.
