Congratulations to our BEI Executive Director,

Dr. Erik K. Alexander!
For his promotion to Brigham Health Vice President of Education. In this capacity, Erik will provide executive oversight over all UME and GME education efforts and training programs at BWH. We look forward to supporting him in his new role. In addition, to being Director to the BEI, Erik is also the HMS Associate Dean for Medical Education at BWH and Professor of Medicine at HMS.
One Minute Teaching Tips
We are proud to continue our BEI “One Minute Teaching Tips” initiative! This week we feature Antonia Chen, MD and Andrew Lawton, MD who remind us to engage trainees in all the ways they learn and to ask trainees “What went well?” when debriefing.

Crowdsourced Ideas and Conclusions adapted from our “What CPD is, Why We Do It, and Tools to do it Better” Virtual Session
On September 22nd, the Brigham Education Institute held a “What CPD is, Why We Do It, and Tools to do it Better” session with Dr. Robert Birnbaum. We crowdsourced ideas and conclusions from our event, summarized in one page.
The AAMC released a framework to address and eliminate racism. The four pillars include: 1) Individual self-reflection on systemic racism; 2) Anti-racism efforts within the AAMC; 3) Anti-racism efforts within the academic medical community; 4) Anti-racism efforts within the broader community.
