With the uncertainty of the election behind us, we are entering the holiday season ready for the upcoming transition in Washington, DC. Given our experience navigating Federal program changes, we have long prepared for this shift and have focused our efforts on ensuring as much stability and continuity as possible in our support for electric infrastructure projects over the long-term.
In 2021, BEL made a strategic decision to capitalize on infrastructure funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and later portions of the Inflation Reduction Act to strengthen electric infrastructure that will support end-use electric technologies. Through our joint efforts, electric cooperatives and municipal utilities have taken on the challenging work of securing infrastructure investment funding to benefit local communities. BEL has been diligent in supporting projects that are durable, practical, and broadly appealing, understanding that these initiatives take time to advance. We remain eager, as do our stakeholders, to see these impactful projects implemented.
As we look ahead to 2025, we anticipate opportunities to evaluate what has been successful in advancing the benefits of the electric sector -- and what has not. While some priorities may shift, we believe this core mission will continue to be supported. In the meantime, our focus is to work diligently with current federal staff and policies to implement and maximize the impact of these programs, setting them up for success in 2025 and beyond.
