This is Danielle.
In March 2020, just after Washington state shut down for Covid-19, her office held their annual event encouraging business owners through God’s principles. They had only two days to pull it off, but they pivoted to an online format and moved forward with the event.
One of the speakers mentioned The BEMA Podcast. She began listening about a week later, and she cried when she heard the first teaching on Genesis in Session 1.
She was hooked.
Much like we might binge the Mandalorian or WandaVision, Danielle binged BEMA through quarantine. In the midst of training for a marathon, she made it into Session 4 in only nine months and “LOVED every second of it!”
Danielle has been engaging a weekly practice of Shabbat—and the occasional eight-hour day of solitude by a lake without technology or interruption. She is digging into books and engaging in a new cadence of spiritual practices that have filled her days with purpose and routine. She has always been rooted in a community and a number of Bible studies, but this filled the gap where she longed for something deeper.
Since most of her listening time has been away from a notebook and Bible, she returned to the beginning of Session 1, working through it slowly and intentionally with pen and paper and God’s Word in her hands. And while she is on the go, she has continued through Session 4 and into Session 5.
Today she is profoundly grateful for new tools, for revelation and knowledge of the Text, and for a continued curiosity to learn who God is. Much like a player coming back to their coach to say “thank you,” today she looks back on the coaching and guidance she received through the podcast and looks forward to how God will use her and the skills she has learned in time to come.
