This is Sharon.
She lives “on the Wirral, across the Mersey from Liverpool.” (That’s in the UK for the uninitiated.) For a while, Sharon had been in a dark place and did not feel a hunger to dig into the Text. It was the same old stuff, it didn’t make sense, and it didn’t even sound like “good news.” The Bible had become tainted by the tools she was given growing up in the form of weighty theology.
Then she found BEMA. In a matter of weeks, she found a renewed sense of urgency to dig into the Text, looking for any excuse she could use to sit down with another episode to learn more tools for studying God’s Word. She was seeing things through a new lens. Theology not only started to make sense, it even became attractive again.
Almost two years in, Sharon is caught up with the podcast and listening to new episodes as they are released. She is reading some of our recommended books, and she has sought out additional voices and resources that continue to open up the Bible to her in a refreshing way. The more she uncovers the complexity of the Text, the more fascinating it becomes.
