This is Mac.
He first heard about BEMA from his therapist in Georgia, not because of some specific therapeutic void he thought it would fill, but because he knew Mac delights in putting Scripture in the correct cultural context. Having grown up in Uruguay, Mac was familiar with the agricultural, patriarchal life.
His therapist took a risk and shared the podcast with him, and now Mac is overjoyed and can’t wait to wade into the contextual teachings offered in each episode.
Likewise, Mac reached out to an old friend to encourage him to listen to BEMA. Mac’s heart to share his newfound tool was the catalyst his friend needed to overcome the scars of ministry he accumulated over many years. After struggling even to go to church, his friend became excited to wrestle with the tough questions in the Bible that we often read over.
Mac’s therapist has now started a discussion group and their community of podcast listeners continues to grow. It’s a great testament to the power of a personal recommendation to the right person at the right time.
