This is Heather.
Some of Heather’s friends from a church in Jacksonville, Florida, introduced her to BEMA. Her friends told her how the material had been introducing them to a different perspective. They told her how their lives were being changed. Heather and her husband started listening (individually at first) and were blown away by the content.
God and the Text worked in them as they applied the messages. Eventually they introduced it to their small group from church and shared how their lives were different. Their small group began listening to the podcast during their time together. Heather and her husband were now part of a healthy group of podrishioners studying and wrestling together.
They were tangibly energized as they began to devour the Text in context. The ambiguity and complexity of the Scriptures gave way to insight and comprehension. The Bible they had been taught as concrete and fixed was presented as accessible and strong enough to stand against their questions.
They were finding freedom from guilt. They were learning how to read God’s Word in a way that brought life to themselves and others. BEMA was the tool God used to set them free from a lifetime of baggage.
Heather and her husband recently moved on to San Francisco, but God raised up new leaders through the group who continue to come together over the Text and study with a different hermeneutic for the Scriptures.
