Construction Update at 500 Financial Park
At this time we are completely moved out of 201 Main Street and the Central Office is getting settled in at 500 Financial Park.

The construction team is putting lots of finishing details on the new property including installation of tile flooring and room signage. Whiteboards are being installed in all of the classrooms. Lots of landscaping is in process. Our phones and internet access are being moved over, and copiers are being installed.

Our phone system is not activated yet, though we expect service in the next few days. We ask for your patience during this time so that we can unpack and begin training on our new systems including things like phones and security.

  • July 8 through July 25: BFCCPS Central Office will be open in our new offices at 500 Financial Park from Monday through Thursday from 9am to 3pm.

  • July 29 through August 16: BFCCPS Central Office will be open in our new offices at 500 Financial Park from Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

  • August 19th through August 30th: BFCCPS Central Office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4pm.

At this time, the building is still an active construction site, so we can not accept visitors at the school. We will keep you posted as soon as the Central Office is able to accept visitors, and we will publish a schedule as to when the building will be available for tours following the installation of classroom furniture and the publication of Teacher Assignments in early August.

For now, here's a quick look at some exciting features of our new home at 500 Financial Park! We'll continue to provide updates over the next few weeks and this Google Photo Gallery will be updated as well.
Learning Commons
This beautiful space will host three waves of lunch to accommodate all students.

There is a large flexible seating area which we refer to as the Learning Stairs; this area will be used for Advising Groups, presentations and much more. The Learning Stairs also function as a staircase to the second floor of the building.
The tile floor in the learning commons is now being installed.

BFCCPS is currently hiring a Food Services Coordinator and a Food Server to manage breakfast and lunch offerings with our new vendor Revolution Foods. More details will be available in August.
We are incredibly excited about this common area which is large enough to fit our entire student body for a variety of all school gatherings.

The new courtyard features a patio, bench seating, gardens and a grassy area. Custom bricks purchased through last year's fundraiser will be installed in this area.
The field behind the school was hydro-seeded a few weeks ago and the weather has been very helpful to get the grass off to a strong start!
Music Rooms
Our new facility includes two music rooms, two practice rooms and a music equipment storage room.
Science Labs
Students in Grades Six through Eight have access to our two new science labs. The labs are connected by a large storage area for a variety of science supplies and equipment.
It was fascinating to watch the movers move over the library. Each stack of books was transferred over the stairs at 201 by hand, then loaded onto shelves on the truck.

Thanks to this specific attention to detail the library shelves are already completely organized and ready for students in the fall!
Art Room
Our new art room is bright and sunny! You can see there is a lot of built in storage and a sink, this room also has a storage closet for supplies.
One of the features that the students are most excited about is the Makerspace. At this year's Makerspace Pillar Night students enjoyed products such as Makey-Makey and Ozobots.

P lease stay tuned for details from Jessica Kelleher our new STEAM Teacher/Technology Integration Specialist about the Makerspace this year.
