GRADUATION 2023
On the evening of June 9th, the Buckingham Friends School community gathered in the Meetinghouse to celebrate the Eighth Grade class and to conclude BFS’s 228th year.

Upper School Math and Mindfulness Teacher Min Felix was selected by the Class of 2023 as this year's graduation speaker demonstrating the close relationships that are forged between teachers and students at BFS even in one's first year. Additionally, students sang and shared personal testimonies regarding their experiences, relationships, and reflections as a student of BFS. Congratulations to the Class of 2023!

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT:
Francesca Crimi ’12
After graduating from BFS in 2012, Francesca Crimi built on her JEM experience and continued to seek opportunities to travel to new and exciting places while experiencing the rich culture of each destination.

"Buckingham Friends School instilled a level of confidence in me at a young age. Reflecting back on those years, I was always encouraged to be authentically myself. The environment that BFS cultivated is one of joy, self-expression, laughter-medicine, kindness, empathy, tangible lessons, open-mindedness, embracing mistakes, and communal leadership."

YEAR-END TRADITIONS!
BFS Big Hug Pancake Breakfast and
Track & Field Day

Thank you to all of our families who came out to our Big Hug Pancake Breakfast and Track and Field Day last Friday. A special thank you to all of our Board members for cooking up the delicious breakfast. Students across the grades competed in events ranging from long jumps, soccer skills, cross country, lacrosse skills, frisbee throws, block building, water relays, and more! Grey was in the lead going into the final two events of the day - the egg toss and the tug of war. It came down to the final tug of war, where Blue emerged victorious. Both teams should be so proud though of their tremendous efforts, good sportsmanship, and love of the day!
Brick Ceremony 2023

The Class of 2023 was officially welcomed as alumni of the BFS community last month during the Brick Ceremony! Guest speaker Nancy Keim Comley '83 shared about the impact BFS and its community made on her life and that of her family. The 8th Graders then placed their engraved bricks into the BFS patio, symbolizing their mark and permanence on BFS. Welcome Class of 2023!!
END-OF-YEAR GRATITUDE ASSEMBLY

Gratitude was expressed on the morning of June 8th to the many individuals who contributed to all that we value and accomplished during the 2023-24 school year. Departing community members were thanked, words with the students were shared, and the signature end-of-year slide show was enjoyed by all as we closed out another amazing school year together! year together!
CELEBRATING THE RETIREMENTS OF
MADAME SCHREIBER AND MR. B
This past winter, Isabella Tamborino-Schreiber announced her intention to retire at the end of the school year, ending her 24-year-long tenure at Buckingham Friends School.

... Understanding the importance of establishing trust, respect, and motivation, with kindness and patience she has always sought to connect personally with her students, tailoring aspects of the program for each grade level according to their interests, needs, and strengths.
Known for long, animated explanations on numerous topics, Steve could be heard from some distance, expounding on the day’s subject. Kids might make a show of rolling their eyes, but they were always listening, and he has made a huge impact on hundreds of students over his 42 years at BFS.

The influence of “Mr. B.” has transcended academics, sports, and special events as his presence created warmth and caring that permeated every aspect of BFS school life.
