Fourth Quarter 2020
Every year the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend (BGCCB) participates in the ‘Lights On Afterschool' initiative. The nationwide event celebrates afterschool programs and the important role they play in the lives of children, families, and communities. With the support of our event sponsor Port of Corpus Christi, BGCCB was able to host a drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat event for youth in the Coastal Bend area. Over 840 families were served during this event.
Thanks to the TMJ & Facial Pain Center, we were able to supply three BGCCB families with take-home baskets that contained an entire Thanksgiving meal. The baskets included: ham, turkey, all the fixings, a pie, a gallon of tea, and rolls. These families were so grateful for this opportunity and had a very nice Thanksgiving meal with their family.
Our event sponsor Coastal Bend Community Foundation - Mayor's Disaster Relief Fund and our community partner Old Navy - Moore Plaza came together to support 130 BGCCB Club members with a Christmas shopping spree. What a gift is was!
The gifts didn't stop there! Between Humana, USMC - Toys for Tots, Straight Edge Technology, Target, Bridgestone Retail Operations, and staff members at Bay Ltd.; our youth were gifted with an extraordinary opportunity this Christmas season. BGCCB was able to host a Christmas party our youth will not forget. From food, drinks, and desserts, to clothes, toys, and bikes; our youth will have an everlasting memory of their time spent within our Club walls.
