When School Is Out, Our Club Is Open
Our youth enjoyed a week full of activities during February break. During the school vacation week, members participated in: drumming class; crafts; ice skating and swimming field trips; a visit to the Bruce Museum; and pancakes for lunch! A highlight of the week was the annual Rebecca Breed Valentine’s Day Ice Cream Social. This tradition was lovingly carried on in Rebecca’s memory. In addition to her years as a lawyer and children’s advocate, Rebecca served as Greenwich’s First Selectman during the 1980s, a longtime member of BGCG’s Board of Directors, and was BGCG’s 2019 Champion of Youth.

Swim-a-Thon
What an amazing night we had at our 19th Annual Swim-A-Thon raising over $13,500 for our aquatics programs! BGCG swimmers filled the pool at Greenwich Catholic School, swimming more than 1,200 laps. Thanks to sponsors and donors, our community’s youth will continue to have fun learning the aquatics fundamentals.
Special recognition is being given to all fundraisers who surpassed $500—their dedication will be honored with a brick in the entryway of our newly renovated Clubhouse!
Thank you to our amazing Keystone members for curating an incredible playlist that kept the swimmers energized and rocking.
SPECIAL THANKS to our premier sponsor, The ZAC Foundation!

Winter Family Night
Parents, youth, and staff had an amazing time at our Winter Family Night. Families came together to explore the impactful work of our ClubTalk counselor, Kim Covington-Johnson. Participants created meaningful Family Vision Boards, setting goals and aspirations together, and engaged in a hands-on aroma putty activity that promoted relaxation and mindfulness.
Laughter and conversation filled the room as families bonded over these engaging activities—while enjoying delicious refreshments. It was a wonderful evening of connection, creativity, and community!

BGCG Receives Grant From Pitch Your Peers
As the Clubhouse renovation nears completion, we received a transformative $45,000 grant from Pitch Your Peers (PYP) to furnish and equip our new Teen Center. This funding will provide state-of-the-art AV equipment, modern furniture, and recreational resources, creating a dynamic space for local teens.
“We are incredibly grateful to PYP for their generosity and commitment to our community,” said Cristina Vittoria, CEO of BGCG. “Their support will help us create a welcoming Teen Center where members can connect, grow, and thrive.”
Pitched by Stefanie Morin, Sarah Morris, and Chalon Lefebvre, the grant addresses the need for a revitalized space to serve the Club’s growing teen membership. The expanded center will double capacity, adding breakout rooms for tutoring, study groups, and a dedicated College and Career Center. Designed for both study and recreation, it will feature lounge areas, gaming tables, and new AV equipment to enhance engagement and safety.

BGCG Teens Partner with Brunswick on Midnight Run
On a chilly February night, students from Brunswick School and Boys & Girls Club’s Keystone Club came together for a powerful experience—meeting and helping homeless individuals face-to-face.
The two organizations partnered with Midnight Run, a nonprofit that builds understanding between the housed and homeless. They packed donations of warm clothing, toiletries, and food.
Along with Keystone Club Advisors Ryan Accurso and Mariana Martins, the teens piled into vans and headed to New York City where people were already waiting at community centers and houses of worship.
“These stops are places where people know we’ll be,” said Amy Kerekes, Brunswick’s Director of Community Service. “We talk, listen to their stories—many are just going through tough times.”
The night’s journey took them from midtown to lower Manhattan, ending near Foley Square—leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for the power of kindness.
