Greetings and Salutations BGS Families,
Two days into our voyage and our crew and passengers are all on board!
Thank you for an amazing start to a new year at BGS. We are so very delighted to see how hard these students have been working to get to know us and their new classrooms. They showed so much resolve to “keep cool” and deal with the heat these past two days and we are so very proud of how strong and resilient they can be at BGS.
A huge thank you to our amazing staff from Thursday and Friday who helped guide our learners and welcome them to BGS. I could not ask for a better group of navigators for this small but mighty ship on the ocean.
MONDAY
All students from EC-3rd will be present for Monday, August 28th. We cannot wait to have all of our explorers on board for our voyage!
For Kindergarten-3rd grade the school day at BGS starts at 8:25 AM and ends at 3:25 PM.
Our primary communication to families will be through our Weekly Newsletter on Friday which is an email/e-newsletter. Please make sure your contact information is kept up-to-date with the school so that you receive these important messages. These communications will also be posted to our school website and social media pages.
DROP OFF
All car riders enter the school from WEST Street. In order to reduce the traffic on WEST, all BGS families dropping off and picking up will need to make a right turn only into the parking lot drive on the western side of the building. Please do not let your child exit your car until you see a staff member give you a thumbs up or help the student out. Students will get out of the car and line up by grade. They will enter the building at 8:15 a.m.
PICK UP
Please write your student's first and last name on a piece of paper and hold it up or have it in the right passenger side window for pick up at 3:25 p.m. Students line up by grade through the WEST entrance doors. You will enter the rear line in the same way as arrival.
Please wait for the buses on Hunt St. to depart and do not pass them if their signs are out.
BUSSERS
Students who use the bus will be dropped off and picked up on HUNT near the main entrance where they enter.
Please see the attached BGS DROP OFF PICK UP MAP to help you see where students will be dropped off and picked up.

BEST FOOT FORWARD FOR P.E.
Parents and families, please help us make students aware that athletic shoes must be worn for PE for safety purposes. Sandals, open toed shoes, boots, crocs, water-shoes etc. can cause injury and Coach is making sure students are wearing appropriate gear for movement and play. A pair of shoes can be kept at school in their locker and they can change into them at P.E. if needed. If you have questions, please reach out to Coach Schmitt or Mr. Perez.
