Consider Getting Your COVID Booster
Before Holiday Gatherings
| |
Individual COVID-19 risk tolerance may vary among your family members, but in general, it is wise to plan around the person at your holiday gathering who is at highest risk. The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay on top of your COVID-19 vaccine boosters. The new bivalent booster is a critical tool in keeping yourself and loved ones safe.

2022 Performance Evaluations for
Baystate Health Employees are Now Open
| |
Now is the time to complete your self-evaluation for the 2022 Performance Year. Employees under Magnet are required to complete a self-evaluation. The self-evaluation is an opportunity for employees to add their voice to their evaluation by highlighting accomplishments, contributions, identifying areas of opportunities, and more. This can also be helpful to your manager to have a better understanding of how you did over the last year, identify growth and development opportunities for the upcoming year, and for your manager to use the information to guide their own assessment within your annual performance review.

In June, Baystate Health (BH) conducted our annual Press Ganey employee survey. Teams throughout Baystate Health are now having conversations about their engagement results and planning improvements. The survey data provides a starting point for further discussion about what to change and what to keep doing in support of engagement, resilience, safety and belonging and more.
Over 7,300 employees participated in the survey, 62% of our employee population, which was up from 58% in 2021. Thank you to all who took the time to contribute your voice. Below are the health system overall results on some of the key elements of the survey.

The Relationship Between Food and Joy | |
While it’s true that we need food to survive, cultivating a joyful and healthy relationship with food helps us to thrive. Historically, humans have deepened social connection and celebrated joyous occasions in the sharing of meals. From growing and gathering to preparing and eating, every culture has a story connected to the foods they eat.
By keeping the focus on experiencing joy and connection with others, you can find more enjoyment in sourcing your meals, cooking, and sharing them with others. As we head into the holiday season, spend some time reflecting on what stresses you out the most about mealtime and what brings you the most joy. Get creative and come up with a plan that allows you to maximize the good, so you can focus on the moments that matter most.
