July 4th Week

Deep Point on Saturday, June 29th
No doubt the week of July 4th is one of, if not THE, busiest of the year. Thousands of people will be on the island and numerous activities will be held throughout the week, including:
Many other fun activities are listed in BHI Limited's holiday brochure found HERE.

A couple of quick safety reminders:
  • No underage drivers on golf carts; valid license is required
  • Fireworks are prohibited on BHI
  • Please don't drink and drive
  • Watch out for wildlife
  • Call 911 in the event of an emergency and tell the dispatcher you're calling from Bald Head Island
Also, due to Southport's fireworks, BHI Transportation has cancelled the July 4th 9pm ferry from Deep Point and the 9:30pm ferry from BHI. The contractor ferry will not run on July 4th.

Happy Birthday, America!

BHA/Village Offices Closed
on July 4th
Both Bald Head Association and the Village of BHI's administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the holiday. Both will reopen on Friday, July 5th during normal operating hours.

Contact BHA at 910-457-4676 x21 and the Village at 910-457-9700 with questions.
Important: Calling 911
There has been much discussion on social media recently about calling 911 while on BHI for a situation perceived to be non-emergency. We all know that BHI is unique in many aspects. It follows that the way to reach first responders here is also different than the mainland. Here are some guidelines the Village's Public Safety Department asks everyone to follow.

Always Call 911
Seconds count in an emergency - always call 911. Notify the dispatcher that you are on Bald Head Island and your address, and emergency personnel on BHI will respond immediately. The Public Safety Department has paramedics, firefighters and law enforcement on duty 24/7/365 on Bald Head Island.
On BHI, for non-emergency calls that require immediate assistance, call 911. Notify the dispatcher that it is a non-emergency call and that you are on Bald Head Island. Calling 911 logs the call for important tracking and training reasons and immediately dispatches Public Safety personnel.
Property owners who rent their home on BHI are strongly encouraged to print this information about calling 911 for their renters.  Anyone who has visiting guests is strongly encouraged to share this information as well.
