BHA’s Board of Directors held a Special Meeting on February 16, 2022, to consider a proposal from the Village which was submitted to the BHA Board to provide long-term access to 32 and 34 Sandpiper Trail from West Bald Head Wynd in the form of a private driveway, across BHA Common Area. From the two optional draft site plans prepared by Shawn Wilkerson of Wetlands Engineering (who also owns 34 Sandpiper Trail), the BHA Board voted to approve the concept of a single private driveway from West Bald Head Wynd branching into two separate, private driveways to 32 and 34 Sandpiper Trail. The Board’s approval of the concept plan now gives these two property owners permission to submit plans to the Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
Both site plan options (click

The ongoing efforts of Village Public Works staff, in trying to maintain golf cart and tram accessibility of the paved road surface along Sandpiper Trail, have been significantly hampered by dune growth and encroachment of sand. Villager Manager Chris McCall noted at the meeting that it does not have any current plans to close Sandpiper Trail and that they will continue to maintain it.
BHA thanks Mayor Peter Quinn and Villager Manager Chris McCall for providing information about this access. And thank you to all property owners who attended and/or commented about this proposal.
