Last Chance to Opt-in to the BHI Community Directory
Is Monday, November 1!
The deadline is Monday, November 1, 2021, for property owners to opt-in and be included in the upcoming BHI Community Directory. The fillable form is HERE. Completed forms should be emailed to Diane Mesaris at Diane@BaldHeadAssociation.com.
For BHI organizations and businesses serving Bald Head Island, you can be added to the directory listing for FREE, with enhanced listings and advertising available. Email Pam Henson at Pam@BaldHeadAssociation.com.
BHA’s 2021 BHI Community Directory will replace the directory previously produced by the BHI Conservancy,
who has relinquished this project to BHA. The directory will include property owners who have opted-in, Bald Head Island information, a business listing and advertising —
it’s an essential resource for BHI property owners, guests, businesses and more. A copy of the directory will be provided to BHA member households and advertisers
free of charge, with extra copies available to purchase.
BHA is in the process of creating the directory, for print
and distribution by December, with an initial print run of
500 copies.

BHA's 3rd Annual "Operation Re-Forest — We Forest"
Want to sign up? TODAY is the deadline!
Simply fill out the survey (click HERE).

|
BHA's 3rd annual “Operation Re-Forest — We Forest” is coming soon! BHA began this operation in 2019 to help mitigate Bald Head Island’s tree losses from previous storms, such as Hurricane Florence in 2018.
BHA will order trees the first of November and bring them to BHI for planting on BHA Common Area in early December. BHA encourages property owners to participate in “Operation Re-Forest — We Forest” in one of four ways:
• Take advantage of BHA’s bulk order cost and Island delivery to plant trees on your own lot.
• Plant trees as part of your tree mitigation with the Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
• Plant a tree on your own lot to honor a loved one.
• Purchase a live oak tree in honor of a loved one to be planted on BHA Common Area.
Plant a Tree!
Live oak trees (6-8’ tall) cost $100 each, if you pick up and plant a tree on your own lot.
If you pick up and plant a live oak tree on your own lot but also want to include it as an Honor Tree, the cost is $115. If you simply want to purchase a live oak honor tree and have BHA plant it on BHA Common Area, the cost is $135.
If you want to take advantage of BHA's bulk rate to purchase trees and plant them on your own lot, ARC fees are waived for this operation only, but you must fill out the tree survey to order so that ARC has a record of landscape changes (click HERE).
Sub-association Neighborhoods
In some BHI neighborhoods, property owners do not own the land around their home. If you live in a neighborhood with a sub-association, contact your president or representative about your interest to plant a tree. They can fill out the tree survey.
Thank You!
BHA is grateful for the support of the many volunteers to make this operation a success. And we thank BHI Limited for its continued support, again waiving the barge fees for
tree delivery.

Happy Halloween!
Fall is here, and Halloween is just around the corner. It's time for carving pumpkins, amidst the smell of wassail and hot chocolate. Here's a friendly reminder about Halloween decorations, in keeping with the Design Guidelines:
- All exterior decorative items (including temporary holiday decorations) must be constructed of natural and organic materials and blend seamlessly within the home and landscape design. Colors should complement the natural surroundings. Holiday novelty decorations like blowups and items that are inconsistent with this guideline are not allowed.
- These exterior decorative items must be few in number and consistent with the general subdued and natural character of the Bald Head Island conservation consciousness.
- Holiday lighting is permitted from November 15 to January 15 only. Moderation is recommended. No holiday or string lighting is to be used for exterior decoration any other time during the year, including clear or white lights, nor is it permitted to be used to illuminate any exterior steps, porches, arbors, structures, etc. any other time of year.
