Want to Join the BHA Board of Directors?

Submissions Due by July 31, 2023

Anyone interested in getting involved with BHA at its Board level can submit her/his resume to Board member and Nominating Committee Chair Joe Brawner

at joebrawner1144@gmail.com by July 31, 2023, for consideration for the 2024 Board of Directors.

The Nominating Committee consists of a chairperson, who is a member of the Board of Directors, and four members of the Association who are not currently members of the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee is appointed by the Board of Directors, and the 2023 committee members approved at the Board’s June regular meeting are: Rick Nelson, Robbie Nixon, Claude Pope and Kirby Ward. Mike Scibienski is the alternate, and Joe Brawner is the Board Liaison. There are two ways to be considered for Board service. ...

Driving slowly can help reduce the number of wildlife creatures getting hit, such as birds, squirrels, turtles and snakes. The speed limit on BHI is 18 mph unless otherwise posted. Pass it along!

BHI Helpful Tips

Do you have a helpful tip to share? Email Pam@BaldHeadAssociation.com.

  • All foot traffic should FACE oncoming traffic. Bicyclers should ride single-file WITH traffic. Bicyclers should pull to the side when safe to do so to allow gas-powered vehicles to pass. Safety helmets are required for those 16 years and younger and are encouraged for everyone.
  • Remember to not leave keys and valuables unattended in golf carts. Yes, Bald Head Island is a beautiful island paradise, perfect for relaxing and enjoying all it has to offer. But incidents can and have happened on BHI.
  • Help with controlling mosquitoes this summer — "Tip and Toss" all containers holding water around your home. And don't forget to check those tarps covering your boats.
  • You must be a licensed driver to drive a golf cart. Follow all NC traffic laws, including the speed limit of 18mph (unless otherwise posted). Do not drive with a child on your lap. ALWAYS let emergency vehicles, trams and gas-powered vehicles pass when safe to do so. Pass foot traffic and bicyclers with caution, especially around blind curves. Park with ALL 4 TIRES off of the roadway and only in designated areas. NEVER block 911 emergency beach accesses.
