BHA's 2022 Annual Report was mailed to members on Thursday, December 15, 2022, in a white catalog envelope. Included in the Annual Report are details about the Annual Meeting (on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 9:00am), voting, the proxy and information about the five candidates running for BHA's 2023 Board of Directors. While Duke Energy completes construction of its power grid improvement project at BHA's Wildlife Overlook, the area will be closed. We anticipate it will reopen daily at 5:00pm, but the area may close one evening during construction to apply sealant in preparation for the winter. Here is Duke Energy's tentative schedule (subject to weather and other impacts) for the project:

December 21 is our winter solstice, and it's our the shortest day of the year. "During the day, the Northern Hemisphere will have just 8 hours and 46 minutes of daylight. Then at 10:19 pm, Earth’s axis will be titled in such a way that the North Pole of Earth faces the furthest away from the sun it will reach." (Space.com) After the winter solstice, we will begin slowly adding additional daylight time. Many weather apps keep track of daylight hours, which is especially helpful for those who crave sunlight.

Yoga classes taught by Pam Moulin are held in BHA's Association Center (111 Lighthouse Wynd) on Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:45am-1:15pm.

Pam has 35 years of experience as a fitness instructor and 18 years of experience as a yoga instructor, and she's been teaching yoga on Bald Head Island for 12 years. All levels are welcome. Classes are $20, and participants must bring their own yoga mat. Pam requires that all participants show proof of vaccination against Covid-19. For all new participants, it's strongly suggested to email Pam beforehand (and let her know of any physical limitations) at pammoulin@ec.rr.com.

BHA's office will be closed for Christmas and New Year's on Friday, December 23, 2022; Monday, December 26, 2022; and Monday, January 2, 2023. Regular office hours are 9:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday, with noted holiday closings.
