Update From the BHA Board of Directors:
On June 7, 2022, the BHA Board of Directors held a Special Board Meeting to begin the process of getting all the information regarding the sale by BHI Limited to SharpVue Capital. Essentially, we want to gather all the relevant information on this so we can send it to all our members as well as analyze and evaluate it ourselves.
We had excellent member attendance by Zoom and in person at this meeting. Click
HERE for the meeting recording.
Our next meeting will be the regular Board meeting on June 10, 2022, at 11:00am. At that meeting we will have further discussions on our preliminary plan for information gathering for our members. We hope you can join the meeting. Details for joining BHA Board meetings are HERE.
Our initial thinking is we will try to hold an informational meeting with all the relevant parties and the members where we can learn from all the details and have a question-and-answer session, much as we have had in the past. We are targeting mid to late July. Stay tuned for details.
We also anticipate that BHI Limited and SharpVue will file an application with the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) for approval of the transfer of ownership. We will likely intervene in that proceeding (join in that proceeding) if we think it will be beneficial to our members. The primary reason we would intervene is to be sure we gain access to all relevant information in a timely manner so we can evaluate it and promptly send the information to you. Again, stay tuned for details.
As we have been collecting information on this, we have talked with both the Village and BHI Limited. During those conversations the Village and BHI Limited updated us on ongoing conversations among and between the parties. Below is the statement they authorized us to release as to those conversations:
I, Alan Briggs, have now talked with Peter Quinn and Chad Paul and am pleased to report there are some distant signs of resolution of our transportation issues.
Peter has informed me that the Village has been in meetings with the BHI Transportation Authority over the last two and a half months, aimed at establishing a collaboration between the Transportation Authority and the Village.
In addition, the Village has had meetings with BHI Limited along the nature of information exchanges and brainstorming possibilities with the hope of collaboration, as well.
More recently, the Village has had interactions with SharpVue and while it has only been of an introductory nature, it has been with the intention of future interaction.
It is my understanding the Village and BHI Limited are positive about the direction these discussions and interactions are going.
While this is not resolution, this is talking together, and this is positive and is a step in the right direction.
We, the BHA Board, will keep you up to date on all we learn in these ongoing developments.
