Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York would love to present the wonderful scholars who have been inducted into the National Honor Society at Bishop-Loughlin Memorial High School this year! Members of our programming staff were lucky enough to attend the program the morning of Thursday, October 26th to support the scholars.

Our scholars were selected based on the four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Our scholars that were inducted this year include Godson Blaise (12th Grade), Samiyah Samuels (11th Grade), Tyzhani Seals (11th Grade), Angelina Singh (11th Grade), and Amira Pierre-Saint (11th Grade)!

We hope next year that more of our scholars can follow in their inspiring footsteps. Please don’t forget to give a shout-out to these scholars whenever you see them! 

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in our community who was able to attend our 2023 Women of Hope Benefit on October 17th! It was an outstanding success for Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York and a great representation of how truly strong and inspiring our community is.

A special thank you goes out to our honorees: Michele Thornton-Ghee, Dominique Broadway, Majora Carter, and Precious Blanding who took the time out to share their words of wisdom in support of our female scholars. We would not have been able to do this without the help of so many amazing people. We saw many familiar faces along with new individuals whom we hope to connect again with in the future.

• On November 16th, 2023, Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York will be hosting Community Day! There will be a Potluck, NYC Smoke-Free Art Viewing, and Math Scholarships!

• On November 21st, 2023, the scholars will be providing Community Service in the form of a Soup Kitchen and Coat Drive. Please join us or support us if you are able!

• On November 23rd, 2023, also known as Thanksgiving, Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York will be providing support to The Street Corner Gourmets in their annual Dinner-on-the-Street. We hope to share the loving memory of Sister Mary Lanning while bestowing the blessings given to us this year upon others who are not as fortunate.

• Lastly, on November 27th, 2023, the scholars will participate in Christmas Tree Decorating and Holiday Card Making.

We hope all in the Boys Hope Girls Hope Community have a wonderful November and Thanksgiving this year! 

Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York will be participating in the #GivingTuesday global day of giving this year! This will be taking place on November 28th, 2023, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. 

#GivingTuesday’s mission is to be a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and world”. Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York hopes to unite the community by providing hope and opportunities to scholars in need. 

#GivingTuesday has worked hard with non-profit organizations to amplify missions, fundraise, rally volunteers, and build a movement for a cause since 2012. Stay tuned on our social media for upcoming ways to participate this year!
