Fall 2019 - Phase 3A/3B Volume 10 | October 21, 2019
Brownsburg High School's renovation and expansion project remains on time and on budget and set to be completed in June of 2020. These quarterly updates go to families who have children at BHS, to BCSC staff, and to anyone who has subscribed through our website. These emails provide information specific to each phase of the project, focusing on areas that impact students and their daily routines at BHS.

Phase 3A of construction will be completed at winter break while Phase 3B continues, set to be completed in the summer of 2020. In Phase 3A, the former BHS cafeteria is now being renovated (fall break photo above) and the new west entrance, auditorium, and 53 new and renovated classrooms and science labs are in the final months of construction, set to be completed in January 2020.

Contractors completed nine BHS classrooms a full semester early, eliminating the need for 300 freshmen to travel to East Middle School for three classes every day in the fall semester. Students had been bussed to East for the last three school years.

WHY: The core of the Brownsburg High School building has been relatively unchanged since it opened in 1971. With 13 additions over the last 46 years, the infrastructure of the building was in dire need of an upgrade. These upgrades are accommodating technology needs for teachers and students that weren't in place in 1971 and are maintaining a comfortable learning environment with updates to the aging HVAC system.
