Last week, Behavioral Health System Baltimore (BHSB) hosted our annual legislative briefing to discuss the potential impact of Medicaid cuts and tightening budgets on Maryland’s public behavioral health care system, as well as other factors influencing mental health and substance use disorder services. We also presented BHSB's 2026-2027 legislative priorities for the upcoming Maryland General Assembly.
This year’s speakers were Alyssa Brown, director, Office of Innovation, Research and Development, Maryland Medicaid; Nicole Graner, director of government affairs and public policy, Community Behavioral Health Association of Maryland; and Dan Rabbitt, policy director, Behavioral Health System Baltimore.
