This week the Public Works Committee voted to refer the staff proposed major increases to all Development Impact Fees to the full City Council without a recommendation. The fee proposal includes an increase to Park & Rec fees by 2,697% for single-family homes and 1,750% for multifamily homes. Other fees such as the Growth Requirement Capital Fee and Storm Drainage Fee include increases of 100% to 241%.
We submitted a
letter
in advance of this hearing reiterating that this is the absolute wrong time to be considering any cost increases to housing. This swayed the Committee to not take a support position on the fees, but instead to refer it to the full City Council for consideration on May 19
th
