Revisions to List of 303(d) Impaired Water Bodies--Public Comment Period Open

Anti-Housing Groups Host Antioch Forum
Representatives of Save Mt. Diablo, the Greenbelt Alliance and the Sierra Club are inviting the public to attend a forum on Antioch's development plans for the Sand Creek Focus Area. The event is the latest in the housing opponents' protracted campaign to stop much-needed housing production on land located within Antioch's voter-approved urban growth boundary. Development has been anticipated for decades on the roughly 2,800-acre Sand Creek Focus Area including as many as 4,000 housing units. But despite the region's significant need for housing, these groups consistently label all production as "sprawl" except for very high density urban infill. For BIA members who would like to attend and represent an alternative point of view, the forum will be held on Feb. 23, 2017, starting at 7 p.m. at Prewett Community Center, 4703 Lone Tree Way in Antioch.
