TALKING POINTS:
  • I am opposed to the idea that an inclusionary policy is the most effective way to address affordable housing.

  • We ask that a formal stakeholder processes convene, before a costly RFP is issued for a study on an inclusionary framework.

  • A diverse group of housing professionals and advocates, are the best people to provide insight on the most effective affordable housing production strategies.

  • This motion was first introduced in 2018, since then significant changes in policy and housing needs have been experienced in the City.

  • Even the will of the public has shifted to unprecedented NIMBYism.

  • For these reasons we urge this committee to reevaluate the idea of adopting this motion.

  • Instead, please convene a formal stakeholder group to inform more impactful solutions, before moving forward with a costly RFP.

  • Thank you, I hope my comments are considered.
