LA County Passes Inclusionary Housing
Today, in a 5-0 vote the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passed the County's Inclusionary Housing Ordinance with slightly more restrictive amendments and other directives. Four hours into the meeting, BIA-LAV was one of only two entities to testify in opposition of the Ordinance, among those calling for the policy to go further.

Aside from the creation of a middle-income category, very few requests by BIA and coalition partners were adopted in the final Inclusionary Housing policy. This week, BIA staff worked with all the Board offices to include a reporting directive, creating an opportunity to revisit and amend the policy over time. This Ordinance was nearly three years in the making, and the effort put in by BIA was acknowledge by the Director of Regional Planning, during today’s hearing. Unfortunately, the political will was not more malleable.

While disappointing, we will continue to work with Board offices as this Ordinance is implemented. For details please click on the corresponding links, below. For questions contact Diana Coronado.
