BIA-LAV KEEPS BUILDING OPERATIONS OPEN IN GLENDALE & MANHATTAN BEACH
This week our BIA-LAV office worked tirelessly to ensure that all the cities in our jurisdiction maintained their continuity of building and planning services. Since the Governor's Executive Order on March 19th and a reissued clarification on March 22nd, all homebuilding construction was deemed an essential service and was exempted from his "Stay-at-Home" Order. In Los Angels County all but two cities were in compliance with this exemption: the City of Glendale and the City of Manhattan Beach. In both cities our members projects would have been negatively affected by delayed wait times as late as April 20th. However, thanks to our advocacy effort and the Cities' willingness to adapt new technologies and modify old methods, we are pleased to report that both cities are continuing to process all building operations, beginning this week.
If you have any questions related to LA County, please contact BIA-LAV Director of Government Affairs,Diana Coronado.
