BIA Provides Comment on Plan Updates

On Friday, Land Use & Housing had a special hearing to consider the Clairemont & College Plan Updates, which will result in the capacity for tens of thousands of new housing units, infrastructure improvements, and new policies. Lori spoke in support of College Plan, providing our support for additional homes and praising the City team for moving this forward. We provided our support for the Clairemont plan as well, but with two caveats that the City rezone areas around the transit corridors of Clairemont and Clairemont Mesa, similar to other plans, and that the City reconsider its assumption of homes being built on the Rose Canyon Operations site. We are very grateful to Councilmember Moreno hearing these requests and adding that they be analyzed prior to the full Council vote in the motion.
