On Thursday, April 16, The City of Ventura's Water Commission will be discussing the Water Demand Factor Analysis and the Final Draft Comprehensive Water Resources Report. BIALAV will virtually attend the meeting to comment on these items. BIALAV is glad to see the City taking steps to downgrade required water conservation according to available water supply, from a Stage 3 conservation level to a Stage 2. The report concluded that the annual supply projection is 19.67% below normal year supply. The Water Shortage Event Contingency Plan indicates that if the annual supply projection is between 10%-19% below normal year supply, then a Stage 2 Event is declared, and if between 20-29%, then a Stage 3 Event is declared. A Stage 2 Water Shortage Event requires 10% mandatory conservation; a Stage 3 Water Shortage Event requires a 20% mandatory conservation.
