A Good Plan is Great Prevention
Preparing for the unexpected is best done in advance; however, many times, we don’t know we need a plan until we do. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued guidance for your company's Infectious Disease Outbreak Response Plan. Your plan should include preventative measures for your staff, impact if someone in the office has contracted the disease, and how to keep the company in business during this time. Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program
The State of Hawaii has applied for federal small business disaster assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration. According to the SBA, the "Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program" for small business and non-profits should become available the week of March 23. Under this program, small businesses may apply directly to SBA for a loan; it is not funneled through local banking partners. Loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that can't be paid because of the impact of COVID-19. Read more here.

SBA is suggesting Hawaii businesses applying for the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan prepare by downloading the application and beginning to fill out the forms that will be required when the program starts.
The NAHB remains open for business and is an excellent source of information for our industry in these challenging times.
