Member Spotlight
Jordie Mukai of Ridgeway Construction is not only the Committee Chair of BIA-Hawaii's Leading Young Professionals, she also finds time to give back to the community. On a recent Sunday, Jordie spent her day volunteering at Help is on the Way, a nonprofit whose mission is to provide delivery services to at-risk folks so they may stay safely at home, such as kupuna and quarantined individuals & families.

Every Friday the nonprofit organizes pickup in town on Keawe Street next to the Gold Bond Building distributing food from 12pm-2:30pm. The organization partners with Aloha Harvest, Pacific Gateway Center and Na Kupuna Makamae, all working together on free food distribution along with supermarkets and food vendors who donate their inventory. They also partner with Malama Meals helping to distribute meals to kupuna across the island.

According to Jordie, "With their easy to use app, you can help when you are free. Volunteering is important as supporting our community and each other is VITAL during these uncertain times. I am healthy and able to continually work. Many others are not and volunteering my time to help others who are not so fortunate is literally a no brainer."
