Second IAUP Leadership Development Program held

in Mexico City

More than 20 current and former presidents, vice chancellors, rectors and higher education experts from around the world served as speakers in the second edition of the Leadership Development Program held June 6-9, 2022, in Mexico City. A select cohort of participants from 6 countries received insights and individual mentorship from seasoned experts, strengthening their understanding of current trends, key issues, and best practices, as well as their strategic implications for higher education and for their respective institutions.

IAUP co-hosts INQAAHE Forum 2022

IAUP, the Federation of Private Mexican Institutions of Higher Education (FIMPES) and CETYS University co-hosted along with the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), INQAAHE’s 13th Biennial Forum held in Mexico City from June 6 to 9, 2022. With more than 150 attendees from 32 countries, the Forum covered topics related to educational quality, current trends and future challenges in education, the impact of data, and the use of artificial intelligence in quality assurance policies and processes, among other highly relevant aspects to achieve the sustainable development of higher education worldwide.

IAUP - Santander breakfast with Dr. Paul LeBlanc

Renowned innovator in higher education and Chancellor of Southern New Hampshire University, Dr. Paul LeBlanc, served as Speaker during a Breakfast Meeting with Mexican university presidents organized by Santander Universidades, IAUP, FIMPES and CETYS University in Mexico City on June 7, 2022.

IAUP Executive Committee Meetings 2022

The IAUP Executive Committee for 2021-2024 has held three meetings covering key past and upcoming IAUP activities. Executive Committee Members provide support, as well as insights and areas of focus, for upcoming activities & new initiatives.

IAUP Webinar Series with TCSPP begins, discussing student mental health

The first session of IAUP's three-part Webinar Series with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology took place on June 21, with a presentation titled “The State of Student Mental Health”, by Dr. Michele Nealon, TCSPP President. Attendees registered from across 5 continents.

IAUP - ASU Webinar Series: Leaders as designers of higher education with Dr. Michael Crow

The first session of the Designs for Innovations in Higher Education 4-part web series was held with Arizona State University and its President Dr. Michael Crow. Titled “Leaders as Designers in Higher Education", it counted more than 230 participants from over 20 countries.

IAUP International Business Model Competition

The IAUP launched its first Student Competition together with CETYS University, California State University, San Bernardino, and SIAS University, open to undergraduate students from member institutions who contributed business models aligned with the 2030 United Nations Development agenda. Winners will be announced in August.

CGU and IAUP sign framework agreement

Seeking to create synergies between both organizations, a framework agreement was signed by the Compostela Group of Universities and IAUP

Dr. Enrique Graue receives honorary doctorate from UNC

Dr. Enrique Graue, President of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and IAUP Vice President for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, recently received an honorary doctorate degree from the National University of Córdoba (UNC), in Argentina.

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, top university in THE’s Latin America University Ranking 2022

Times Higher Education's Latin America University Rankings 2022 results were recently announced, featuring the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) led by IAUP Vice President for South America, Dr. Ignacio Sánchez, as number one in the region for the fourth consecutive year.

A transformative initiative: ULV opens College of Health and Community Well-Being

To meet the challenge of a new era of healthcare, University of La Verne (ULV) will be teaching health in new ways through its College of Health and Community Well-Being, which officially opened its doors on July 1st, 2022. As ULV’s fifth college, it will not only educate high-quality graduates to support a growing need for healthcare professionals, but also increase interest in research and innovation in the field.
