Message from the Nulsen Family

Executive Director

Spring has sprung, bringing a whirlwind of exciting events and milestones for the BIFE team!

To kick off the semester we hosted our biannual Welcome Back & Networking Party, teaming up with the Blank School’s Butler Launch Pad. The event buzzed with energy as students connected over shared interests in family business and startups. We also welcomed Josh Baron, PhD, Co-Founder of BanyanGlobal Family Business Advisors, Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School, for a Successful Succession Workshop. Students gained invaluable insights and practical tools to help their families navigate passing the reins to the next generation.

On a personal note, Professor Gartner and I are deeply honored to be recognized by FamCap25 as Leading Global Family Enterprise Academics. I’m deeply grateful for the nominations and support that led to this recognition. It’s an honor to work alongside such a dedicated and talented team at BIFE in pursuit of our mission. Professor Gartner has also been named Top 1% of Academics Worldwide by Top Researchers List. This achievement reflects our commitment to leading in family entrepreneurship research.

March took us to Tuscany for our Global Family Entrepreneurship Spring Summit, which seamlessly flowed into Babson Connect Worldwide (BCW). This year’s summit was extra special as we presented the Babson-Camus Global Family Entrepreneurship Award. I was also proud participate in an executive panel on Building Legacies and Innovative Approaches in Family Entrepreneurship at BCW.

There is much more to share! Dive into this newsletter to catch up on all the highlights and what's coming next.
