Tennis & Pickleball are most enjoyable when you play with similar skilled players. Our club has been using UTR (a rating system for tennis) and now I am pleased to share with you our partnership with DUPR, the most accurate rating system for pickleball. DUPR is trusted by hundreds of clubs, professional players and organizations, and created for all skilled players, from recreation to more skilled players.

What will our club use DUPR for?

It’s important you get a DUPR because your rating will be used for entry into club programming (clinics, leagues and ladders) and for skill assessment and improvement tracking with lessons.

What if I don’t compete in tournaments? Should I still register for DUPR?

Yes! DUPR allows you to upload recreational matches, so you can build a rating whether or not you compete in tournaments. Having a DUPR takes the guesswork out of ratings, keeping every match fun and competitive. Optimize your game by tracking progress over time, and connect with other players locally and while traveling. 

Do points scored in a match affect ratings?

Yes! Fight for every point and every game because they all count--not just wins or losses like traditional ranking systems.

What if I’m unrated and I play against other unrated players?

That’s okay! Those scores will retroactively count once you or the other players play against someone who does have a DUPR. This is called “connectivity” and it’s a beautiful thing.

How to Join our Club on DUPR

1. Start here
2. If you've already played in a tournament or league, you may have an account waiting for you to claim. That’s because DUPR automatically uploads match scores from all sorts of events, so you may already have a DUPR rating! From the sign up page, search for your name, location, and age to claim your existing account.
3. Double checked that you don’t have an account to claim? Go ahead and create a new one. 
4. Tap the "Clubs" icon in the top bar (mobile) or sidebar (desktop), then search for The Tennis & Pickleball Club at Newport Beach to find us. Tap on our page and select "Join Club." Easy!

The Newport Beach DUPR Waterfall Presented by Takeya

DUPRTM , The Tennis & Pickleball Club of Newport Beach & Takeya are proud to announce the largest prize money amateur tournament in the history of pickleball ($100k). The event takes place August 5-7 with the new and innovative event format, “The DUPR WaterfallTM,” guaranteeing players four (4) competitive matches (2 out of 3 games to 11) all within a four hour period.
