FEBRUARY 2020 UPDATES FROM STAR
STAR’s mission is to prevent sexual trauma and provide comprehensive, collaborative crisis intervention, advocacy, and support to victims/survivors, their families, and our communities.

BREAKING NEWS:
STAR GOES NATIONAL!

Tomorrow, February 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Alaska time, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing in Washington, DC on Sexual Harassment at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

STAR has been collaborating with NOAA for years to provide training, safety education and services for biologists working in the Alaska Marine Fisheries Service in Southeast Alaska. We have also provided this training with NOAA staff in Seattle and on the Eastern Seaboard, as well as for staff of the National Park Service throughout Alaska.

Our very own Julie Dale, STAR's Prevention & Education Manager, will be there to testify before the U.S. House of Representatives. We couldn't be more proud of Julie for being a shining example of best practice prevention and intervention efforts nationwide, and for representing Alaska so well!
