This week is Digital Health Week, celebrating advancements in healthcare technology and highlighting digital innovation's transformative impact on enhancing access to high-quality, efficient, and convenient personal healthcare. We applaud our digital health member companies' significant contributions to our sector and global health. This week, the federal government underscored the growing potential of a digitally connected healthcare system, outlining plans to support its continued growth and further recognizing its pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare. Read about it here.

I had the pleasure of attending the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade event this week, where The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Canada's federal Minister of Innovation, Science, and Industry, engaged in a thought-provoking discussion and shared insights on critical subjects such as talent, the significant role of anchor companies, and British Columbia's attractiveness as a talent hub. He spoke about cutting-edge AI, cybersecurity, and quantum computing advancements, emphasizing the importance of ambitiously leveraging our strengths and capabilities to adapt and thrive in the swiftly evolving global landscape. Congratulations to the GVBOT for hosting a great event!

This week, we are pleased to launch BioBasics 201: Targeted Biologics for the Non-Scientist, the sequel to BioBasics 101. This 2-day course in January is ideal for non-scientists with foundational knowledge in DNA, RNA, proteins, and cell signaling who wish to enhance their understanding of biotech principles to enable more informed discussions with colleagues.

Limited spots also remain for the upcoming BioBasics 101, taking place later this month, which provides a foundational understanding of the science underpinning biopharma.

We are excited to attend the J.P. Morgan Conference in January! If you're a BC company attending, let us know here so we can coordinate efforts. You also won’t want to miss our upcoming Blakes Breakfast Speaking Series: Preparing for J.P. Morgan Week on Dec. 13!
