BIRCUS BREWING FOUNDER AND AGT CHAMPION TO HOST DUAL BOOK SIGNING AT NEW LOCATION OF TOME BOOKS

On Tuesday, June 10th, Tome Books and Novelteas at 6089 Salem Road will host a book release and signing for two talented and unique authors. Paul Hallinan Miller, former Ringling Bros. clown and owner/operator of Ludlow’s Bircus Brewing Co. and circus troupe Circus Mojo will be joined by close friend and associate Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. to celebrate their individual published works.

Miller’s personal accounts of navigating a global pandemic as a clown-turned-brewery-owner are hot off the presses in Circus in a Sundown Town following a release on Amazon last month.

Murphy, season six champion of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, has received much acclaim since the 2013 release of his rags-to-riches autobiography, From Washing Cars to Hollywood Star. Landau will have his albums for purchase and autograph…

The two will be on site from 5:30-7pm at Tome Books and Novelteas’ new location on Salem Road in Mt. Washington, signing books, CDs, and mingling with fans of circus, Sinatra, and creative community development. In addition to enjoying a coffee or tea and perusing Tome’s freshly curated bookshelves, patrons can engage in the authors’ excitement surrounding their work on a new reality TV/docuseries – a media venture with worldwide aspirations.

From Murphy: “After winning America’s Got Talent, I was connected with Headline Books and Rick Robinson, who helped me tell my story and introduced me to Paul, opening up a valuable new relationship and outlet for my work. I have recently been back in Ludlow working with Paul on a promising new TV show, Circus Suites.”

From Tome owner Jeremy Clark: “I met Paul when I opened my bookstore in Ludlow and he asked me to help publish his book. Over the past few years we have helped each other accomplish much, and I’m excited to celebrate his publication at my new shop.”

From Miller: “I had no idea what a Sundown Town was until I began researching Historical Tax Credits to develop my brewery. Digging through archives, I found photographs from a confederate-themed Ludlow parade, and gained an understanding of the ongoing challenges of Ludlow and similar communities. Working with a team of people, I wrote this book with lots of help, based on 16 years of circus as a community development tool in Ludlow, Kentucky. The hope/premise is that others might adopt my unique model of using social circus to eradicate modern Sundown Towns across our nation.”

For years, Miller has partnered with worldwide artists and used a multitude of creative tools, such as state export grants and crowdfunding, to push his asymmetrical community development model forward. In addition to his compelling personal story, he is publishing companion workbooks for utilization in community development, available for purchase at www.piefighter.dev.
