FINDING JOY AND FOSTERING CONNECTIONS

After enduring a long winter filled with cold, snowy days here in the Midwest, we find ourselves on the brink of spring—a season of renewal, growth, and fresh opportunities. As we approach the spring testing season, let’s come together to cultivate a community grounded in consistent joy. Let’s foster connectedness by strengthening our relationships with students, colleagues, and families, ensuring everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Embrace collaboration, knowing that we are stronger together and that no one should navigate this work alone. And most importantly, let’s focus on making a lasting impact on our students, empowering them to realize their full potential and experience the success they truly deserve. This can create an environment where positivity thrives and every individual has the opportunity to shine. Happy spring!

SPRING FORWARD TRANSITION PLANS

Spring behavior transition meetings are essential for ensuring a smooth transition of student support as they move to new teachers. These meetings focus on transferring key relationships, maintaining consistent behavior strategies, and ensuring that contribution plans remain active and aligned with each student's needs. Additionally, any skills-based coaching plans are evaluated and adjusted to reflect progress and future goals.

BIST LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE RECAP

In January, 150+ school administrators and leaders across the country gathered to collaborate on adult accountability and intentionality. while networking with like-minded peers. Marty Huitt led several great conversations about creating communities in schools, focusing common belief systems, intentionality, accountability, and actions. Participants also visited Kansas City schools that are successfully implementing the BIST model and heard from the schools' staff and students about how BIST creates a more successful educational environment.
