Leaders Enhance Learning at BIST's
Courageous Leadership Conference
More than 200 school leaders across Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska came together on January 24-25 in Kansas City, Mo., for the 4th annual BIST Leadership Conference. Themed "Courageous Leadership", the event gave school leaders the opportunity to connect and support one another while collaborating on interactive learning activities. The conference also included site visits to BIST schools to give attendees the opportunity to see BIST in action.
Lee's Summit Executive Director of Staff Development Kevin Daniel and BIST Director Marty Huitt lead discussions on BIST and trauma-informed care.

Vision Teams representing schools from across the Midwest will come together next month to network, analyze data, enhance foundation around the BIST philosophy and increase the adult community's ability to think specifically about the individual needs of students.

Many of our most challenging students often have a lack of trust for adults. Since we have worked hard to build this trust with consistency and predictability, let us build on that. Which adult will our student have next year who we can begin transferring this partnership to right now? Let's set our students up for success by showing them we are going to support them now as well as going forward into next year.
