PLANNING FOR THE BEITH HAMIDRASH PROJECT IS PROGRESSING!
In preparation for the restoration project, a process known as
Ground Penetrating Radar (or GPR)
was performed on the entirety of the Beith Hamidrash building and its surroundings.
Mr. Terray, the professional who performed the GPR process, provided a 3D computer model together with a detailed report of the findings. The results show the presence of 2 structures from different time periods. The first may be the remnants of the foundation of the oldest synagogue that once stood there. The second structure shows the remnants of 2 pools which may be the place where the oldest Mikvah once stood. We are very excited about the findings and we will report more as the process continues.
The images below show Mr. Terray perfoming the GPR process, and some of the images from the final report.
