Happy New Year!
2020 looks to be a very busy and exciting year for the Worldwide Board, but now, I would like to take a moment to write to you and reflect on the past year. It was a year of change, but also one of success at BKR International. We accomplished much internally to build an association that is ready for the future.

Thirty Delegates from BKR's EMEA Region Attend 2019 Future Leaders Program

EMEA Regional Future Leaders Program
was held once again at the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in The Netherlands. Eleven alumni and 19 new future leaders met on November 25-26.
The alumni program was run by

(Arnhem) and Gronigen University, with input on leadership from
Delphine Buisson
(Paris), EMEA Regional Chair
Ulrich Viefers
(Düsseldorf), and
Marcel Blote
(Arnhem).

BKR's EMEA Regional Tax Meeting Held in Amsterdam

The 2019
EMEA Regional Tax Meeting
kicked off with 30 delegates from around the regions in attendance. Topics included the ECJ cases on beneficial ownership, withholding tax, inbound investment and mandatory disclosure rules, as well as country roundups from delegates.

Americas Regional Managing Partners Convene in Las Vegas
|
|
BKR's Americas Regional
Managing Partners Roundtable Meeting
was held at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on December 8-9.
Among other topics, participants discussed the 2019 Member Firm Analysis, succession planning, alliance partnerships, staff retention, and mergers and acquisitions.

US Tax Practice Group Members Meet in Chicago
|
|
Members of BKR's
US Tax Practice Group
held their annual workshop at the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport on November 8.
After a group dinner the evening before, attendees gathered to offer firm tax department and 199-A updates, and case studies in R&D, as well as discuss a number of member-submitted tax topics.

Client Accounting Services (CAS) Workshop
was held at the Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown on November 6-7.
Topics included technology, client engagement, go-to-market approaches, and numerous CAS-related roundtable discussions.

BKR's Leadership Institute Holds Second Session in Chicago
|
|
Session two of BKR's
Leadership Institute
was held at the
Embassy Suites Downtown in Chicago
from November 18-20.
During the meeting, Guest Speaker Vicky Gilmore discussed effective communication with the group, and Guest Speaker Steve Erickson covered the accounting business, profitability, billing and collecting,
and l
eadership and management skills.
