Hello Everyone,

I hope we are all enjoying this warm weather, but don’t let it fool you the colder temps and snow could still come and get us. If you are out ice fishing remember to watch ice conditions as they can change daily. If you happen to see any trash at landings or on the lake, let’s do our part and clean it up. We will also be doing a tip up challenge later this month, look for more info in the newsletter.

On to some muskie topics. There will a Musky Road Rules this Saturday, February 10th, hosted by Gregg Thomas. There will also be two other speakers.

March 23rd is our annual Sportsman’s Baquet; it is our biggest fundraiser for the year. Funds raised allow us to support fisheries, research and youth. We only sell 160 tickets, and they go fast so get yours today.

February 13th Meeting - Rick Bruesewitz - Guest Speaker

Rick Bruesewitz from the Aitkin Area DNR will be joining us in February to discuss the status of Cedar Lake and the walleye project on Big Sandy. Bring your questions for him on any of the Aitkin area waters.

Meetings are open to the public and FREE to attend! Chance to win various prizes from lures or maybe a rod in our meeting raffles. Come to hear and share fish stories and more. One random door prize drawing for those in attendance. Bring your friends!

The 20th Annual BLC Sportsman's Banquet is fast approaching. And we encourage you to get your tickets early if you haven't already.

At our December monthly meeting we elected and welcomed our 2024 BLC Board, including a new President. Get to know our 2024 board and know that you can always reach out to any of us with any questions you might have. We're looking forward to a great 2024 and we hope you'll join us at as many of our events as you can.

Musky Road Rules

Musky Road Rules is coming back to Nisswa, MN!

February 10th - Nisswa American Legion. Come listen to these experts in the field of muskie fishing at the Cabin Fever Clinic - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mom and Ayven my Pillager Huskies Fishing partner. 

Story- While fishing with Ayven and DW, I had a huge Muskie follow my bait, then a little northern swiped it. So close to catching that big muskie !!! I really wanted to hook that muskie. Later on we seen that muskie with that little Northern in its mouth, guess he was not okay with him taking the bait either.

Tip Up Challenge

Serpent Lake

Put fishing on your calendar! Join us at Serpent Lake in Crosby/Deerwood on Sunday, February 25th for a little bit of northern pike action, during the tip-up challenge.

When: February 25th - 9 a.m to 3 p.m

Where: Serpent Lake, Crosby (West) access

Potluck lunch will be offered, so please bring something to share with the group!

Jeff Young Memorial - 2024 Muskie Shootout

Registration for the 2024 Jeff Young Memorial Muskie Shootout is officially open!

We will once again be headed back to Agency Bay Lodge on beautiful Leech Lake. Clear your calendar for the weekend of October 5 - 6, 2024 and register your team today. Remember, starting positions are determined by the order of registrations. So it pays to sign up early!
