A SNEAK ATTACK REVEALED

Woodmont neighbors just got blindsided: a 3-townhouse EHO permit application surfaced for 2701 N. 24th St., the first multiplex to hit this neighborhood since Arlington eliminated single-family zoning in 2023. The developer has already clear-cut the lot of dozens of trees before the permit was even approved.

Neighbors for Neighborhoods is discussing with our Woodmont friends options to fight back. Meanwhile, our ongoing legal challenge (Nordgren vs Arlington County Board) is before the VA Supreme Court awaiting a hearing date. A successful court ruling could stop EHO/Missing Middle in its tracks.

PLEASE DONATE TO OUR LEGAL FUND

The county has spent $1.5 million of your tax dollars on outside attorneys (per FOIA records) to defend Missing Middle in court. Help us match their fight.

MIKE'S STORY – "BLINDSIDED"

LACK OF NOTIFICATION

Arlington County doesn't want you to find out about a 6-plex coming to your backyard, so it gives no notice to neighbors when an EHO permit is filed or approved. Neighbors for Neighborhoods is changing that: we tell neighbors before the demolition crew and clear-cutting arrive, not after.

SNEAK ATTACK: 800 22nd St. S – 3 EHO permit locations in a row!

Three sets of EHO/Missing Middle applications in a row have been submitted on 22nd St S & 23rd St. S. This density will destroy the character of the single-family neighborhood.

SNEAK ATTACK: 3812 16  St. S – 6-plex monstrocity

We're actively working with neighbors to stop this six-plex. Blends right in, doesn't it?

OUR MISSION

Neighbors for Neighborhoods (NfN)  is a grassroots, citizen organization that supports efforts to provide housing affordable to Arlington’s low-and moderate-income households. NfN believes in preserving single-family neighborhoods and concentrating housing density near transit, consistent with Arlington County’s decades-old development policy. We support the neighbors who filed a lawsuit against the County Board in 2023 to have Expanded Housing Option (EHO) declared illegal because it violated state law.
