Updates from Athletics

FHSAA announced this week that Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School has been reinstated into state series participation in Boys Basketball and Baseball. Bishop Athletics is probation free and we are very excited about the future. Thank you Navy Nation, Student-athletes, and coaches for developing such a positive, great teammate culture. Bishop Athletics held a very successful and educational College Sports Recruiting and Academic session on Monday December 12^th. For those that were not able to attend please see the following link for information. https://www.athletics.bmchs.com/bmchs-ncaa/. We are in the registration stage of our Golf Classic at Cheval Golf Club on February 20^th – please attend and support – it will be a fun time of fellowship. It is a great day to be a Cane! For additional information feel free to contact me at any time at [email protected].

Online Awareness & Safety



Online awareness and safety start at home.  It's important to know what your kids are doing online. Pasco County Sheriff's Office put together a list of apps parents should know. We encourage parents and guardians to stay up to date on the different social media apps or games their kids are using and discuss online safety.

Below is a friendly reminder of your current privileges as seniors:

• Class of 2023 gray polo shirt (ONLY available for purchase through Risse Brothers School Uniforms) can be worn for everyday wear, not including Mass days. All students must wear the required WHITE Mass shirts. Both male and female senior polos are designed to be worn untucked.

• Move to the front of the line at door during LUNCH.

• College sweatshirts any day during the second semester (NO hoodies).

There are NO other senior privileges unless they are discussed with, and approved by, the Administration.

In January 2023, you will receive Senior Responsibilities and Activities details for the end of year events; however, here are some important dates:

• November/December 2023: complete your senior portraits at Studio Artistry

Sitting Fee: $40 with your assigned appointment or $50 with an appointment change Two (2) poses are required: 1 – yearbook portrait and 1 – causal (bring extra clothing)

PARENT SERVICE HOUR REQUIREMENT (Handbook, p. 26)

As part of the Bishop family, parents are required to support the school’s mission and our students through volunteerism. Your presence at school activities is one way to show your support. School volunteer opportunities are NOT community service hours, but are volunteer hours through school-sponsored events. All BMCHS families are required to complete ten (10) hours of volunteer service per family each school year. All hours completed should be submitted through the FACTS Family Portal Upon successful submission of all hours, parents will receive an email confirmation. Parent service hours not completed for the school year will be fulfilled at a rate of $20/hour for the remaining balance due on April 30th.
