Father Bobin Babu, Chaplain

I came to the United States on June 22, 2018. I have been serving as the parochial Vicar of St. Rose of Lima and St. Mary’s in the Mountains in Virginia City. I am originally from the state of Kerala in South India. I was ordained a priest on February 14, 2014 at the age of 26. Before leaving India I was the pastor of two parishes and then served as the Secretary to Cardinal Baselios Cleemis. I am so happy to be appointed as the chaplain of Bishop Manogue High school. My new appointment will once again give me the opportunity to work with youth.
Sofia Anxo, Math Teacher

I am Sofia Anxo and I was raised here in Reno. I attended Manogue, as did the rest of my family, and graduated in 2010. I then attended and played volleyball at both the University of Nevada and The College of Idaho where I received my bachelor's of science. I then proceeded to get my master's of education from St. Joseph's University and have returned to Manogue as both an alumni as well as a math teacher. I am so excited to be home and at the school that I love so much!
Sarah Johnson, English Teacher

I am a Reno native and 2012 Manogue alumna. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in Linguistics with minors in Dance and Medieval & Renaissance Studies in 2016 and an MA in English Literature in 2019. You may have seen my face around campus for a few years -- I have been a sub since 2017! I am so excited to reconnect with the Manogue family in a more permanent way and learn with you all!
Brian Festa, Long-Term Substitute Teacher

I graduated from BMCHS in 2016 and continued on to study Microbiology at the University of California, Irvine. Along that path, I discovered a love for teaching through serving as a TA for one of my professors. It was such a great experience that I felt called to pursue a major in Education. In addition to attending UCI, I began teaching English at a local high school in Irvine. Now I've come full circle to rejoin Bishop Manogue as a long-term sub for one of my favorite high school teachers! As we all know, once a Miner, always a Miner!

Service Hours
Students

Still want to volunteer during Quarantine? You can! Reno Alliance is looking for High School Students who would be interested in offering virtual tutoring for Elementary and Middle School students. Find out more HERE!
Parents

We need parent volunteers for school lunches! Volunteers will need to undergo COVID-19 training and contact Bonnie Hansen at (775)336-6000 or Greg at (775)336-6098 to confirm availability.
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  eldaj@catholicreno.org  to be removed from the update list.
