Campus Ministry
Mass on Wednesday

Next Wednesday, February 3rd, Mass after school will be said for the Nielsen Family, Alvarez Family, Perry Family, Guiterrez Family, and all Little Flower families facing hardship or loss at this time. It will begin at 2:30 in the chapel. Everyone is welcome!

The religion department has some exciting plans for Lent coming up!
(Yes, Lent can be exciting!) There are three opportunities for your son or daughter to choose from if they are interested;

1. Consecration to Saint Joseph - It is The Year of Saint Joseph! This is a comprehensive 33-day program of consecration to St. Joseph; information on the 10 wonders of St. Joseph; and prayers and devotions to St. Joseph.
Accessible, motivating, this book will kick off a great movement of consecration to our spiritual father and change the world. The book we will be using can be found here.

2. A female book study - Students will choose between two books to read and reflect on. Through a Catholic lens, both books help a teenager navigate the struggles of high school. This group aims to help girls lean on each other and support each other through this season of Lent and beyond.

3. Exodus 40 - If your son or daughter enjoys a challenge, this is for them! Exodus 40 (It is typically 90 days, but we are making it 40 days to begin with) is a forty-day spiritual exercise based on three pillars: prayer, asceticism, and fraternity. All three of these pillars are essential aspects of the Christian life. It is for this reason that taking up this spiritual exercise requires taking up all three of these pillars humbly. For more information, here is the google doc.

Service Opportunities
Parent Volunteers Needed for Lunch Duty

Greg in the cafeteria is in desperate need of coverage for breaks Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (9:20 - 9:40 a.m.) and lunches Monday and Wednesday (11:00 - 12:53)
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  eldaj@catholicreno.org  to be removed from the update list.

To submit news for the Wire, fill out this form. Submissions must be received by the Thursday morning prior to Sunday publication. Notable headlines submitted after Thursday morning may not appear in the Wire until a later publication.
