It is time to sign up for the first Kairos Retreat of the year!
This retreat is open to junior and senior students only.
It will be held on December 1st- 3rd in beautiful South Lake Tahoe.

Educational Costa Rica Trip

Due to the school cancelation, we have rescheduled the parent meeting for the Costa Rica trip over Spring Break (March 20 - 28). The meeting will be Tuesday, November 5th, at 6pm in Coach Patti's room. There will be representatives from World Strides there to give detailed information including cost, itinerary, and college credits the students can earn. Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Thanksgiving Food Drive  runs through  Nov. 4 and is a Boys vs. Girls competition!  Bring in boxes and cans of food to help families in need, and earn service hours! Earn 1 service hour for every $15 worth of food brought to 1st period classes (5 hours max). Bring completed service form with receipt or estimated value to your Religion teacher. Please check expiration dates. 

Requested non-perishable food items:
  • Thanksgiving food items: cranberries, stuffing and mashed potato mixes, gravy, canned yams and canned pumpkin, crust mix, dessert mixes, canned milk.
  •  Canned tuna and canned chicken
  • Soups, stews, ravioli, chili
  • Bags of dry pasta
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Mac n' cheese
  • baby food
  • breakfast bars

Parent Association Meetings

The Parent Association Meetings will take place in the Knowledge Center. For each meeting you attend, you will receive two service hours. Days and times are as follows:

Wednesday, November 6th at 6:00pm
Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 at 6:00pm
Tuesday, May 5th, 2020 at 6:00pm

Athletics and Extra Curriculars
Athletic Clearance for Winter Sports

If your child plans to participate in a Winter sport, they must complete the Athletic Clearance process on or before November 13, 2019. Instructions and required documents are here. 
If you have already turned in your athlete's documents and physical, remember that you must also REGISTER THEM FOR A SPORT at registermyathlete.com  before those documents can be uploaded and the clearance process completed.

Ski Team Meeting: 11/6

All skiers interested in racing for the Bishop Manogue team, please attend the sign up meeting with a parent on November 6th at 5:30pm in the SCC. If you have any formal wear (homecoming dresses, shoes, jewelry, etc.) that you no longer need, please consider donating them to Lexie's Gift. Lexie was a shining light whose life was cut tragically short in a car accident in August 2016. Lexie’s Gift was established as an outlet for Lexie's parents, family and friends to celebrate her short life by continuing her legacy of helping those who need it the most. Catholic Charities 'Operation Stocking Stuffer'
On December 15th, Catholic Charities is hosting an "Operation Stocking Stuffer" party. They need 40 volunteers to face paint, play games, sweep, clean-up, or hand out stockings in the St. Vincent's Dining Room from 11:30 am - 3:00 pm. This is a fun and great way to earn service hours and help children in need this holiday season! You must sign up with Ms. Klekas beforehand in the Campus Ministry room, see her today!

Athletic Snack Bar and Admissions Gate
Athletics is looking for volunteers to work the admissions gate and snack bar at the regional football game on Nov. 8.  SIGN UP HERE


School Lunch
Need parent volunteers to help at lunchtime on Mondays, from 11:18 am - 11:48 am and then at 12:06pm - 12:36pm. Please contact Greg @ 775-225-1391 or Jane Festa @ 775-336-6061.
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  eldaj@catholicreno.org  to be removed from the update list.
