Parent/Teacher Conferences

This a friendly reminder that Monday - Thursday, October 26-29 is a 1:00 pm release for all students due to Parent/Teacher Conferences. Teachers will be requesting specific conferences with parents of students who are performing below an acceptable level. They will also offer availability to others as their schedule allows. Please watch for emails from teachers for conference invites!

Additionally, teachers are going to make time for students who need extra assistance this week so they can have a strong start to the second quarter. Stay tuned for requests from teachers to meet with students right after school to help them on a better path as we approach the end of the semester and finals week.

If you have any additional questions, please contact your child's teacher or counselor directly.

For Students
Congratulations Honor Choir!
District level Honor Choir auditions are held every year and of the hundreds of students that auditioned this year, only 17 students in each section were chosen to participate based on their audition score. Receiving a score high enough to participate in Honor Choir is a great accomplishment. Mrs. Hilliard is very proud to announce that all 6 of the following students from the Bishop Manogue Women's Choir "sang" their way into Honor Choir based on their high scores.

Jillian Beilke
Abigail Castro
Afsaneh Hormuzdi
Reagan Hukari
Helena Libang
Katie Ravazzini

These students will have the opportunity to move on to second round auditions at All-State.
Time & Stress Management Group
Please fill out this Google Form if you are interested in attending a counseling group to support time and stress management. This is for students in grades 9-12 during the fall semester. This group will be run by one of BMCHS's counselors, Ms. Koltz, who will interact with BMCHS students throughout group sessions while engaging students in time and stress management skills and support, collecting feedback from the students.

The counselor leading this group will not be replacing the student's regular counselor.
Students' counselors are as follows:
Ms. Bethany Salter - last names A-G
Ms. Jessica Koltz - last names H-Q
Ms. Cathy McClintock - last names R-Z

Information shared during group times will be disseminated to each student's acting counselor where follow up may be warranted.

Service Hours
Reno Ice
We are so excited for Reno Ice! If you are as excited as we are, here are some opportunities to volunteer to help get the rink going! Sign Up.
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  eldaj@catholicreno.org  to be removed from the update list.

To submit news for the Wire, fill out this form. Submissions must be received by the Thursday morning prior to Sunday publication. Notable headlines submitted after Thursday morning may not appear in the Wire until a later publication.

If you would like to recognize a BMCHS student or group for the Student Spotlight newsletter, please fill out this form.
