New Text Notification Settings: Approval Required!
BMCHS will be changing the method of how you receive texts from us. This new method requires that you provide approval to continue to receive our texts.

Our notification provider will be sending a text message seeking your approval to continue to receive text messages from BMCHS. Please reply “YES” to the text message.

From then on, all text messages from 87569 will be from Bishop Manogue once you give your text reply approval.

If you don’t reply yes, then you will no longer be receiving text messages from Bishop Manogue.

This is Welcome Back Week!


Please dress appropriately during our dress up days. Remember you're still in an academic environment and shouldn't be wearing overly casual clothing like tank tops, leggings, or short-shorts.

In addition to our dress-up days, these are the events that will be going on throughout the week:

Tuesday - Water Games at 6:30pm on the JV softball field

Wednesday - Cornhole during both lunches

Thursday - Rally at 2pm and Jam the Gym Volleyball at 6pm

Friday - Qdoba Fundraiser at 1pm and Spikeball Tournament at 2:30pm

Saturday - Glow Show Dance from 7pm to 9:30pm (bring one can of food for entry)

For Parents
World Suicide Prevention Day is September 10 .
It’s a time to remember those affected by suicide, to raise awareness, and to focus efforts on directing treatment to those who need it most. Bishop Manogue Catholic High School is partnered with the Children’s Cabinet Signs of Suicide (SOS) prevention program. The Signs of Suicide Prevention Program is a nationally recognized program for high school-age students. The program teaches students through a video and through discussion how to identify the symptoms of depression and suicidality in themselves or their friends and encourages help-seeking. The SOS program will be going into your child’s religion classes beginning on  September 26 th . The SOS program also will conduct a complimentary screening for any parents who opt to provide permission. Permission slips will be given to your students on September 26 th for those who wish for their child to be screened. 
Chapel Mass and Coffee with the Mother's Club
New to Manogue? Come meet other Moms and Guardians on Wednesday September 11th at 9:00 AM in the Chapel. Learn about ways to get involved this year at Manogue during our morning coffee clutch in the lobby afterwards. Not Catholic? We invite you to share our traditions together in welcoming in another year of faith and formation for our entire community of students, parents and administration. We look forward to seeing you! Athletics & Co-Curricular Activities
Girls Basketball Open Gym
Open gyms will begin for girls basketball on Wednesday, September 4th and be every Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm.
Field Hockey Club
Come out on Monday afternoons for Field Hockey Club from September 9 - October 26th from 3:15- 4:30. Learn a new sport in a fun environment. 3 x 3 play. No experience required. Bring mouth guard and eye protection. Shinguards, sticks and balls will be provided. Visit for more information!

Scholarships, Special Programs and College Visits
Texas Tech University Scholarship Program.
Students in the top 50% who have a corresponding ACT/SAT score may be guaranteed scholarships from Texas Tech University starting at $1,000 per year. Review the new scholarship program here.
Brigham Young University Application Updates
Deadlines - The application for spring, summer, and fall 2020 opens on August 29, 2019. Freshman applicants that complete the application by the priority deadline of November 1 will receive extra consideration in the admission decision process, so don’t delay! The final deadline is December 16, 2019 and decisions will be released by February 17, 2020. View the full deadline schedule .
University of Notre Dame Washington University in St. Louis Emory University , and  Johns Hopkins University Info Sessions
Students and their families on are invited to attend Tuesday,  September 10 at 7:00pm at The Nevada Museum of Art .   RSVPs are encouraged  as they may reach capacity. Each admission officer will share about their institution for 10-15 minutes, followed by time to connect with individually with the representatives following presentations.  
Discovering U Info Session- Sept. 15
Discovering U, a travel consortium of  Columbia University , the  University of Chicago , the  University of Texas at Austin, the  University of Michigan , and  Yale University is excited to host an information session for students interested in learning more about the academics, student life offerings, and application processes of each institution on September 15 th at McQueen High School. University of Nevada Workshop Series
The  University of Nevada, Reno (NEVADA) will be conducting a workshop series for seniors interested in attending next fall. Please sign up for some of these workshops as lunch will be provided on those dates: 
  • September 16 at Lunch: Get to Know NEVADA info session: Learn all the programs NEVADA has to offer. Lunch is provided at this session. Please sign up HERE.

  • September 18: Meet the Director of NEVADA Admissions: The director of admissions will be here to speak at the conclusion of the Senior Parent Night at 6:00pm. 

  • October 15 at Lunch: NEVADA Application Workshop. This will be an opportunity for students to apply on site and have any questions answered about the admissions process. 

  • November 5 at Lunch: Scholar Luncheon. This is an occasion for students who received a 26 or higher on the ACT to learn more about research and scholar opportunities. Sign up HERE as lunch will be provided. 

  • November 22 at 1:00pm: MyNevada Help Session: Opportunity for students to get assistance with navigating the MyNevada portal.

  • December 11 at 11:00am: NEVADA Mini Fair. Come out to see all of what NEVADA has to offer from Study Abroad to the Honors Program to ASUN and more!

Car Service from Truckee
A group of families in Truckee have been using a morning car service to Manogue. A one-way ride costs $15. Give yourself a day or two of driving off per week with a professional driver and fellow families in our community. Please contact the Johnsons at or at 650-678-8155 soon, as space is limited and filling fast. This is a parent-led initiative.
That Man is YOU!- Begins Sept. 11. at St. Rose of Lima

Service Opportunities

Reno Air Races
The Knights of Columbus of Ponderosa Council is planning for their biggest fundraiser of the year- Reno Championship Air Races. KOC is looking for volunteers from BMCHS for the dates of September 11-15th. Students will serve their community at one of the largest events in the area. Proceeds from the event will be used to support philanthropic activities for the KOC- sponsorship of Casa DeVida, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, Mentally Handicapped groups throughout the region, and the Catholic Diocese.

Community Health Alliance Volunteer Opportunities
Community Health Alliance is a federally qualified health center proving comprehensive health services to all and are looking for compassionate, motivated students who want to get some experience or want to help the community by volunteering their time. A TB test and parent permission slip are required for all student volunteers. CHA will cover the cost of the TB test.

Speech and Debate Tournament- 9/20 & 9/21
Bishop Manogue is co-hosting the first Speech and Debate tournament of the year at Wooster High School. We are in need of adults to judge rounds of competition on Friday, September 20th 3pm-9pm and Saturday, September 21st 8am-9pm. Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  to be removed from the update list.
