Dress Code Reminder For Dance Attire
Students, please keep the following in mind as you prepare for upcoming school dance functions.

  • Dresses that are too revealing, are skin tight or form-fitting, expose midriffs or cleavage, or are too short in length are not appropriate
  • Slit (formal dress) - should not be inappropriately high
  • Dresses must not be too tight or form-fitting
  • Dress length must reach the end of the fingertips
  • Bare midriffs are not advised; dresses with a medium to large area of midriff showing will not be permitted
  • No excessively low cut dresses or tops
  • No garters or exposed undergarments
  • No see-through dresses and no see-through sides or bare sides
  • Note: Claims that a dress was worn last year or at a previous dance, or comparisons to the dresses of other girls already admitted to a dance will not be entertained or discussed
  • Tuxedo, suit, or dress jackets (formal dance)
  • Collared shirt and tie (formal dance)
  • Shirt must remain on and buttoned
  • Dress pants or slacks only; no jeans or shorts (formal dance)
  • No hats or canes
  • No cut-off jeans or jeans with holes
  • No reference to drugs/alcohol/sex, and no swim suits allowed
  • No sunglasses, holographic lenses on glasses, or kaleidoscope glasses
  • Please note regulations will be strictly enforced. These regulations must be followed by all students attending – current BMCHS students and off-campus guests. Students not in compliance will not be able to attend the dance and refunds will not be issued.
The Boys Retreat

The Boys Retreat will be September 23-25 at Grizzly Ranch. The retreat is open to sophomore, junior, and senior boys. The cost is $110. Permission forms are available in the Campus Ministry room, with Mr. Galli or Mrs. Sexton. Don't wait! Limited space available.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our kick-off Mass & Coffee! It was great to see so many of you! We are energized and excited about all the things this program can BE and DO at Manogue.

Athletics & Co-Curricular Activities

Mass Choir
If you would like to join the choir for Mass by singing or playing an instrument, we have our first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 17 from 3:15-4:15pm in room F104. Please email Mrs. Hilliard so that she can create a list of members and provide you the Google Classroom code.

National Anthem Auditions
If you would still like to audition to sing the National Anthem at Bishop Manogue home games and missed the auditions, it's not too late!
Just email Mrs. Hilliard to schedule an audition. You are welcome to audition by singing or, if you'd prefer, you may play an instrumental version of the Star Spangled Banner.

Cellist and/or Flutist Needed
If you play the flute or cello, please contact Mrs. Hilliard. She is looking for students who are able to read music and play either instrument.

Nevada Right to Life - Camp Joshua Leadership Camp

October 4-6, Nevada Right to Life will sponsor the 6 th  annual Camp Joshua High School Pro-Life Leadership Camp. Through workshops, games and engaging speakers, campers will learn to change hearts and save lives, as well as make new friends who value life from across Nevada. The 3 day camp will be the first weekend in October at the 4-H Camp at Lake Tahoe. Car Service from Truckee

A group of families in Truckee have been using a morning car service to Manogue. A one-way ride costs $15. Give yourself a day or two of driving off per week with a professional driver and fellow families in our community. Please contact the Johnsons at or at 650-678-8155 soon, as space is limited and filling fast. This is a parent-led initiative.
Chapel Use

It is fantastic that students, teachers, and community members wish to use our beautiful chapel for various programs; however, it must be treated with dignity and respect as the house of God. Father Tom asks to please keep the the chapel clean, and any left over items (phone chargers, pens, water bottles, etc.) will be thrown in the trash. Thank you for your cooperation.

Service Opportunities

Our Lady of the Snows Fall Festival
The 15th Annual Our Lady of the Snows Fall Festival returns this year on October 4th from 2:30-8:30pm. We are looking for volunteers to help with face painting, raffles, games, rides and event maintenance. Volunteer your time and help us make this year's Fall Festival the best yet! Community Health Alliance Volunteer Opportunities
Community Health Alliance is a federally qualified health center proving comprehensive health services to all and are looking for compassionate, motivated students who want to get some experience or want to help the community by volunteering their time. A TB test and parent permission slip are required for all student volunteers. CHA will cover the cost of the TB test.

Speech and Debate Tournament- 9/20 & 9/21
Bishop Manogue is co-hosting the first Speech and Debate tournament of the year at Wooster High School. We are in need of adults to judge rounds of competition on Friday, September 20th 3pm-9pm and Saturday, September 21st 8am-9pm. Volunteers can sign up for blocks that work best for them on either day or both. Sign up here. Contact Will Monsey at if you have any questions.
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  to be removed from the update list.
